About Blockchain Conclave

Blockchain is one of the most disruptive of the emerging technologies. In order to support the large and highly talented ecosystem of tech professionals within the state, the Government of Karnataka is proactively seeking to develop an enabling environment for Blockchain. A Government's roadmap on Blockchain is being developed for the same purpose and a series of Blockchain focused events are being organized in the state.

The Government recently concluded the largest Blockchain Hackathon in the country, with over 500 participants. The Hackathon brought together startups, students, tech professionals, leading technology firms and government officials to develop high quality use cases for blockchain in governance.

The Blockchain Conclave is a curated, high-profile gathering of 200+ policymakers, industry professionals and Blockchain experts who shall deliberate upon the themes of Blockchain and Governance.

The Government of Karnataka has developed a draft roadmap on blockchain and invites your feed back on the same.


The Conclave will feature deliberations by global experts around three themes.

Cryptocurrencies, FinTech and the rise of a new economics

The Financial sector has been the earliest adopter of Blockchain technology. While cryptocurrencies such as Bitcoin, Ether, Ripple have become widely known. However, there are several questions around the functioning and future of these currencies. There have also been applications of Blockchain outside of the currency space, in core banking and finance operations. This panel explores the aspects of currencies, FinTech disruptions and larger disruptions to finance and commerce as we know it.

Blockchain in Governance and Service Delivery

With the many transactions, collaborations and assets to be managed by governments, Blockchain technology has high potential for the public sector. Several countries have already made great strides in developing and implementing use cases for Blockchain for various schemes and services. This panel brings together representatives from such countries to discuss in detail the blockchain applications developed by them and the benefits and challenges involved.

The Social Impact of Blockchain

With its far-reaching impact on transactions, Blockchain can create many benefits for society at large. This panel brings together academic, legal and industry experts to explore these in depth. Such benefits include data privacy and security, impact on the legal process, transparency and accessibility of records, efficiency in decision-making and many others.
