Session: A Quad Strategic Technology Update: Partnership for the Century The U.S.-India strategic relationship continues to deepen and expand via the Quad and the U.S.-India Initiative on Critical and Emerging Technology (iCET). The Quad and the bilateral iCET mission cover cyber, artificial intelligence, quantum, 5G/6G communications, space hardware, biotechnology and quantum applications. Importantly, these new structures align government scientific investment in labs, industry, research institutes, academia with strategic R&D employed to create and promote critical national security technological priorities. The strategic relationship deepened recently with the announcement of collaboration between National Science Foundation and the Indian science and technological ecosystem. In addition, the Prime Minister of India, during his Independence Day Speech, called for a push in research and innovation. There is a wider realisation that R&D investments should be at par with Make in India policy. The collaboration across the U.S.-India corridor has massive potential to link our scientific and academic communities to reinforce our existing deep and diverse commercial and national security ties. Session: What India needs to become a thriving healthcare R&D hub? Today's interconnected world calls for science-based partnerships and collaborations in a boundary-less manner. The mantra to sustain manufacturing and keep advancing product development to stay relevant in the market is through sustained investments in R&D activities and partnering with agile start-ups. R&D in emerging areas of biomedical innovations and therapeutics interventions are needed for fighting future diseases. For India to remain competitive, targeted investments in R&D in emerging areas of medical products and advanced therapeutics are needed as seen in the global pharma and MedTech product pipeline that will drive future growth of the sector. R&D is capital intensive, time consuming, and involves development of a research ecosystem. Research Linked Incentive can together act as an enabler to make India the R&D hub that will also support product design and improvement and will in turn boost manufacturing. The panel discussion will comprise industry experts and government policy makers who discuss the future of MedTech and biopharmaceuticals, and strategies for India to swiftly capitalize on and adapt to new technologies and cutting edge research Moderator: Dr. Vibhav Garg, Director, Health Economics & Government Affairs, India HUB & ASEAN, Boston Scientific Panelists:
